Full Bio

Josh Roberts is an Oklahoma-born singer/songwriter.  After relocating to Nashville at 22-years-old, he traveled the country performing solo and as a backing musician for other Nashville artists, which included playing venues coast to coast like the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Moody Theater in Austin, TX, and many more.  Roberts has also been a featured performer for national charity events for The Parkinson’s Foundation and The Jimmy-V Foundation for cancer research.

At a young age, Roberts would have an album on repeat until he memorized the lyrics and melodies of pop acts like Boyz II Men and Michael Jackson, and even Oklahoman country acts like Vince Gill and Garth Brooks.  However, music would take on a more significant role in life when Josh was hospitalized at age 7, after a knee-injury kept him off of his feet for six-months.  During this downtime, guitar lessons came into the mix, and singing along followed shortly.

Roberts knew music would be a big part of his life moving forward.  “At the end of the night we were all gathered around on the back patio singing whatever songs I could play guitar to.  In the moment, I didn’t realize how special something like that is.” said Roberts.  “That’s a memory I hang on to because that was the first time I had experienced that feeling of music bringing people together.”

From there, Roberts began performing at a local country music venue called The Oklahoma Opry, which allowed for the chance to sing with a live full band of professional musicians for the first time.  “I had a lot of great times at The Opry.  It was a time of performance education in a live setting.”  During his time at The Opry, Josh was asked to be a featured performer during the Oklahoma Bombing Memorial Concert, commemorating the 10-year-anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing, sharing the stage with other Oklahoma acts like Vince Gill, Toby Keith, Jimmy Webb and more.

Roberts moved to Nashville shortly after graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s in Journalism & Electronic Media.  Over the next 9 years, Roberts would play at bars and venues regionally, and writer’s rounds in Nashville where young writer’s hone the craft of songwriting by playing their new songs in front of live audiences of peers, locals, and visitors.  Roberts also studied Commercial Songwriting and Recording Industry Management at Middle Tennessee State University.

Thru mutual friends, Roberts linked up with collaborator and songwriter/producer, Bobby Brinker who would produce Josh’s latest collection of songs.  “I’ve never felt more at home in my style and vibe than with these songs,” said Roberts.  “We are releasing the project in pieces, song-by-song because we wanted to have something new every couple of months to share.”  With the help of songwriter friends Cameron Bedell, Josh Gabbard, and Bobby Brinker, this six-song collection was born.
